Hi, I'm Iva!
Have you ever thought about what it looks like to surrender your business to God? To actually invite Him in to be the CEO of the business that you are building?
A CEO is typically responsible for managing the companies overall operations. Essentially they guide and direct. They see through a visionary lens for the direction of the business and direct accordingly.
As I began my coaching business I saw it as a direct call from God on my life. I knew that it was way more than a career for me, but it was a calling that I felt deep within my heart. It was clear that if I never stepped out in faith to pursue that call, that I would be disobedient to God.
Not that I didn’t see the other businesses that I’ve created as a call from God, but I knew this came from a deeper place in my heart. And as I embarked on this journey of becoming a coach, I wanted to be more intentional than ever to trust God with the process and surrender this business to Him!
Today I am going to share three practical ways that you can build your business on a firm foundation by letting God be the CEO.
1. Begin your work day with Prayer
Inviting the presence of God into your day to day is such a powerful way to tap into the storehouse of Heaven for your business. When we start our day by communing with God through prayer, we open ourselves up to hear His voice and align our will with His.
O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch. Psalm 5:3
This verse shows that David understood the importance of starting his day by seeking God’s presence. As you begin your day with prayer, communing and fellowshipping with God, not only is it a wonderful time to ask for what you need, but also to hear from Him what His thoughts are about you.
As we go about our day to day, often we pick up burdens that are not meant for us to carry. As I sit still before Him to hear His voice, that is the place where I often get reminded of His love for me.
By inviting God into our day-to-day, we also give ourselves the opportunity to cast our cares on Him.
We can come to Him with a humble and contrite heart and trust that He will provide us with peace that passes all understanding. This can be especially important when running a business, where stress and worry can be overwhelming.
By surrendering every area of our business and trusting in God’s provision, we can find comfort in knowing that we are not alone in our struggles.
2. Walk in obedience to what He is calling you to do
God’s kingdom is manifested here on earth through His children. He partners with us to reveal His plans and purposes here on this earth. In order for this to happen we need to be able to hear the voice of God and then to be obedient to His voice!
Behold to obey is better than sacrifice and to listen than the fat of rams. 1 Samuel 15:22
Walking in obedience to what God is calling us to do is a vital part of partnering with Him to manifest His kingdom here on earth. As His children, we have the privilege and responsibility of revealing His plans and purposes to the world around us.
One of the key ways in which we can do this is by hearing and obeying His voice. This requires developing a close relationship with Him and being attentive to His leading. We can hear His voice through prayer, reading His word, and spending time in worship. As we draw near to Him, we can learn to discern His voice and follow His guidance.
But obedience is not always easy. Sometimes, God’s call may lead us to step out of our comfort zones or to take risks that may seem daunting. However, when we choose to trust in His wisdom and follow His leading, we can experience the incredible ways in which He can work in and through us.
When we walk in obedience, we become part of a bigger story that God is writing in the world. We have the opportunity to be a part of something that is far greater than ourselves and to make an impact that will last for eternity. So let us seek to hear His voice, trust in His leading, and walk in obedience to what He is calling us to do.
3.Trust Him with the outcome
The idea of trusting God with the outcome is rooted in the understanding that we are not in control of everything in our lives. Despite our best efforts, there are always factors outside of our control that can influence the outcome of any given situation. However, when we choose to surrender our plans to God and trust in His plan for our lives, we can find peace and confidence in knowing that He is ultimately in control.
Starting each day with prayer and worship is a powerful way to invite God into our lives and align our hearts with His will. By seeking His presence, we acknowledge that we cannot navigate life on our own and that we need His guidance and strength. Walking in obedience to Him means following His leading even when it may not make sense to us or when it is difficult.
But even when we are doing everything we can to live according to His will, we can still experience doubt and uncertainty about the future. This is where trusting Him with the outcome comes into play. When we release our grip on control and trust in His plan, we open ourselves up to the incredible ways in which He can work in our lives. His favor can bring blessings and opportunities that we could not have imagined, and He can bring growth to areas of our lives that we thought were stagnant.
Of course, this does not mean that we sit back and do nothing. As the law of sowing and reaping suggests, we must participate in the process by sowing seeds of faith, love, and obedience in our lives. But we must also trust that God will bring about the harvest in His time and in His way. By doing so, we can experience a deep sense of peace and contentment in knowing that we are not alone in this journey of life.
