Hi, I'm Iva!
Have you ever reached a plateau and needed guidance for reviving your momentum? Whether this has happened in your business or in your life, maybe you’ve struggled to know how to move forward.
Just recently I felt like I hit a plateau when it came to working on my business! I would go to my office and I would sit and stare at my computer screen. The usual joy in what I do and the creativity that typically flows easily, would not come for me. I was still feeling energized when coaching my clients, but it was in the content creation, promoting my offers and doing the back end work of running my business where I was struggling.
If you’re an entrepreneur, you know that it is hard to shut off the flow of creativity. There is often a barrage of ideas flowing through your head. And yet, as I sat there at my desk, not having an abundance of ideas coming to me it felt defeating.
I found myself begin to get frustrated and then I realized that this is an opportunity for me to uncover what is causing me to feel like I have hit a plateau. Here are three things I did that helped me regain my momentum:
If you are ambitious and you tend to be results focused, this can feel challenging! But in the Neuro coaching world, we call it slowing down to speed up! If I have reached a plateau, I am not feeling joy in what I am doing, and I am not operating at my best, this is an invitation for me to pause.
Let’s dive deeper into this simple act:
This is absolute gold!! Sometimes we can get so focused on our next steps that we forget to celebrate our progress. When we celebrate out progress, we get to see how far we have actually come, and it allows our brain to make a shift in how we look at things. Instead of feeling behind, we can experience excitement and gratefulness for how far we have come, and most of all how much we’ve grown as a person!
Here’s why it’s crucial to stop, look back, and truly celebrate your progress:
It is easy to think that our growth is a straight line always moving upwards, when in reality it is not! Sometimes we reach a plateau, we stall and stay there for awhile. But that doesn’t mean that all hope is lost!
It is simply an invitation to look closer at what we are doing to get to our end result. If what we are doing is not producing the desired results then perhaps this is an invitation to try something different.
As motivated and driven individuals, we’re often taught to be committed to our vision and to persevere. While that is necessary, there’s also value in regularly evaluating our course and making necessary adjustments. Here’s why this practice is invaluable:
Reaching a plateau is the perfect time to make any necessary adjustments.
